For our first time around they were primarily discussions with some practical suggestions.
I agree. I think one thing we need to determine is the primary goal of a group activity. My feeling is that the main goal of the Idea Pitch concept is to tap the insight of the group and provide practical ideas for moving the idea presented forward.
When we ran the session on Tuesday we didn't provide much structure around what the output of the discussion could be and I think it needed. So, maybe we could provide a sheet that the group fills in with:
- Write down three recommendations to help this idea succeed
- Write down three practical next steps to focus on
Then, when these outcomes are presented to the wider group there could potentially be a discussion around people getting involved in those next steps.
