Hi! I'm Jonathan Kolber. I recently completed the book A Celebration Society, which offers a brand new solution to the threat that accelerating automation poses for workers and societies. (It does much more than this, but that is the most pressing problem it addresses.)
My book builds on the wonderful knowledge and insights provided by people such as Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis, among others.
Now I'm seeking allies who want to help build and live in the first such model society. This has an open source design, relying on the best available technologies and other research to rapidly transform a small test area into a new kind of society offering a quality of life that should soon surpass present-day first-world levels. (In my view, it should start as an online, participant-driven simulation somewhat similar to Second Life but without the fantasy aspects.)
The society will have a new system of government that's derived in large part from time-honored yet often forgotten past successful societies, as well as the first economic system rooted in abundance rather than scarcity. I describe cultural aspects and institutions that may be applicable to such a society.
Once the experiment has resolved the inevitable mistakes, it can be rapidly duplicated elsewhere as wanted. (There is included a pay-it-forward aspect to encourage exponential duplication.)
I believe that XPrize participants are natural allies, since they understand the grand challenges which this addresses, and appreciate the power of exponentially accelerating technology to solve such challenges!
