Since I was unable to attend the April 2nd Think Tanks meeting, I am providing a little bit of an update for the XPRIZE Think Tank Phoenix, that should also serve as a personal introduction of myself. I am coordinating XPRIZE Think Tank Phoenix. We are planning to establish a regular schedule soon. So far we have had meetings in December and January. We also plan to have a “mini-meeting” with some of our Indiegogo contributors/partners on April 9. Following that we plan to have monthly meetings.
I am an officer of a 501(c)3 called Arizona Telecommunications and Information (ATI) Institute (http://www.aztii.org/), which is in the process of re-branding itself as a Think Tank (or Do Tank or Make Tank something like that) with a heavy emphasis on “information” (especially education) as opposed to “telecommunications.” As such it is not directly related to XPRIZE, but ATI Institute would very much like to partner with XPRIZE Think Tank Phoenix. ATI Institute is a non-profit that was created by the Arizona Telecommunications and Information Council (ATIC) (http://arizonatele.com/), which has been quite active in sponsoring seminars and informative presentations from renowned presenters relative to eLearning, telehealth, cyber-security, etc. (I am also a Board Member and retiring Vice-Chair of ATIC).
The XPRIZE Think Tank Phoenix plans to leverage the experience and expertise available from ATI Institute to develop a robust program devoted to global learning and its ramifications.
